Bookmarking slicer selections

You can use Bookmarks to save slicer selections that you want to apply across a presentation in one action. When you create a bookmark, you save all the current slicer selections across your presentation. When you use that bookmark, you load all these saved selections for all slicers across the presentation. The purpose of bookmarks is to save you time and effort by capturing your typical slicer settings.

You can save multiple bookmarks, pointing to different combinations of slicer selections that satisfy your different requirements. Note that each bookmark saves the selections from every slicer on every slide in the presentation, including the currently selected values for enabled slicers and the disabled state where the slicer is disabled. By default, the bookmark is saved with a name that reflects the names of some selected values.

The following video demonstrates the use of bookmarks in a presentation:

Bookmarks are not shareable and are only seen by the current user. Other users or viewers of the presentation will not see your bookmarks, and you won't see theirs.

Note: This feature is available with the Enterprise license only.

Manage bookmarks

Bookmarks are created and applied in the presentation at runtime, using either the right-click context menu or from the Present runtime menu. Note that applying your bookmarks sets the slicers across your presentation to the saved bookmarked values.

Once you have created your bookmarks, you can also manage them, edit (rename), update with new settings, and delete existing bookmarks, from the Present runtime menu.

Create bookmarks

To create a Bookmark from the right-click Context Menu:

  1. Select the options that you would like to bookmark for all your slicers.

As you can see from the example, the bookmark will apply the values United States and Clothing to the visible slicers (black arrow) when it is used. It will also disable the Promotion Type slicer and set any other slicer values in the presentation, even though they are not mentioned in the name.

Tip: You can rename your bookmark by selecting the edit option in the Present runtime menu. For more information, see below.
